High viral load suppression 1 year after introduction of the TLD regimen supports the unconditional transition strategy in Malawi. However, high pre-transition viral load, ongoing adherence challenges, and possibly existing...
Interpretation: High viral load suppression 1 year after introduction of the TLD regimen supports the unconditional transition strategy in Malawi. However, high pre-transition viral load, ongoing adherence challenges, and possibly existing nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor resistance can lead to rapid development of dolutegravir...
Altered adipose tissue macrophage populations in people with HIV on integrase inhibitor-containing ART - PubMed

Conclusions: We report the loss of metabolically beneficial ATM populations in PWH on ART, altered fatty acid metabolism of blood immune cells, and evidence that dolutegravir alters macrophage fatty acid metabolism. Future studies should examine direct or indirect effects and mechanisms of dolutegravir, and other integrase inhibitors and ART...
Minimal Cross-resistance to Tenofovir in Children and Adolescents Failing ART Makes Them Eligible for Tenofovir-Lamivudine-Dolutegravir Treatment - PubMed

Cross-resistance to TDF was limited, further reducing concerns about use of transition to TLD in children and adolescents. The NADIA trial has subsequently shown that patients failing a TDF/3TC/EFV regimen...
Conclusions: Cross-resistance to TDF was limited, further reducing concerns about use of transition to TLD in children and adolescents. The NADIA trial has subsequently shown that patients failing a TDF/3TC/EFV regimen can safely be transitioned to a TLD regimen but we do not have data for patients failing an ABC/3TC/NNRTI or PI regimens....
Real-world use and outcomes of dolutegravir-containing antiretroviral therapy in HIV and tuberculosis co-infection: a site survey and cohort study in sub-Saharan Africa - PubMed
Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35848120/
At a programmatic level, dolutegravir was being widely prescribed in sub-Saharan Africa for people with HIV and tuberculosis co-infection with a dose adjustment for the drug-drug interaction with rifampicin. Despite...
Conclusions: At a programmatic level, dolutegravir was being widely prescribed in sub-Saharan Africa for people with HIV and tuberculosis co-infection with a dose adjustment for the drug-drug interaction with rifampicin. Despite this more complex regimen, our cohort study revealed that dolutegravir did not negatively impact viral suppression.
Comparing timelines and evidence available to support new TB, HIV, and HCV drug approvals: The same, only different
Source : https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0271102
Background Tuberculosis (TB), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV) share a global presence and propensity to disproportionately affect marginalized populations. However, over recent decades, many fewer drugs...
Conclusions: The dramatic disparities observed in TB drug development reaffirm the importance of several actions. Increased investment in TB research and development is necessary to rapidly advance drugs through the pipeline. Development plans and partnerships must provide safety and efficacy evidence on combinations and durations that are...
