Objective To establish the effect of statins on muscle symptoms in people who had previously reported muscle symptoms when taking statins. Design Series of randomised, placebo controlled n-of-1 trials. Setting Primary care across 50 sites in the United Kingdom, December 2016 to April 2018.

    1. Selection bias choosing subjects from among people who have already had or perceived possible side effects of statin therapy.

    2. Insufficient number of participants completed the study based on what was required by statistical model.

    3. It is already widely acknowledged that the incidence of myalgia among statin users is fairly low. I'm no statistician but i think many more subjects would need to be observed over a much longer period of time, with much better compliance to draw conclusions here.
