The Impact of Bilateral Anodal tDCS over Left and Right DLPFC on Executive Functions in Children with ADHD - PubMed

The Impact of Bilateral Anodal tDCS over Left and Right DLPFC on Executive Functions in Children with ADHD - PubMed

Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36009161/

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is increasingly used for therapeutic purposes in attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) is the most targeted region of tDCS studies in...

Conclusions: The upregulation of bilateral DLPFC tDCS with anodal polarity does not improve executive dysfunction in children with ADHD. The unilateral modulation of DLPFC with anodal tDCS may be more beneficial to cognitive deficits in ADHD in light of previous works targeting only left and/or right DLPFC.

Associations between Family Functioning and Symptoms of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): A Cross-Sectional Study - PubMed

Associations between Family Functioning and Symptoms of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): A Cross-Sectional Study - PubMed

Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36011159/

Poor family functioning is linked with poor child ADHD symptoms. However, there are many dimensions of family functioning. Thus, this study aims to find the association between each dimension of...

Conclusions: In children with ADHD with poor symptom control, the assessment of family functioning could be helpful. Developing a more specific intervention for caregivers that promotes good family roles and behavioral control may be beneficial.

Dissociable effects of positive feedback on the capture and inhibition of impulsive behavior in adolescents with ADHD versus typically developing adolescents

Dissociable effects of positive feedback on the capture and inhibition of impulsive behavior in adolescents with ADHD versus typically developing adolescents

Source : https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/09297049.2022.2100882?journalCode=ncny20

ABSTRACT The present study investigated how enhancing motivation by delivering positive feedback (a smiley) after a successful trial could affect interference control in adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)...

Conclusion: We suggest that 1/increased motivation could lead adolescents to favor fast responses even if incorrect, and 2/the differential effect of feedback on the selective suppression of impulsive motor action in both groups could be due to different baseline DA levels.

Functional urination or defecation disorders may be warning signs of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder among children in rural China

Functional urination or defecation disorders may be warning signs of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder among children in rural China

Source : https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0165032722008795?via=ihub

Data from a sample 17,279 students (ages 6-18) in rural southwest China were analyzed. * The rate of medical visits of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was low in rural China. *...

Conclusions: ADHD was associated with LUTS and FDDs, which highlights that functional urination and/or defecation disorders could serve as warning signs for ADHD that should trigger screening, especially in relatively backward regions with little ADHD awareness.

Source : https://bmcpsychiatry.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12888-022-04188-4

Background Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurobehavioral disorder affecting approximately 10.0% of children and 6.5% of adolescents in the United States (US). A comprehensive assessment of the current treatment...

Conclusions: Over a 12-month period, treatment changes were commonly observed and were associated with excess costs, highlighting the unmet treatment needs of children and adolescents with ADHD in the US.
