In your specialty, which patient concern or symptom do you feel is most frequently underestimated during initial evaluation?

In chronic care with multiple problems first visit is just a peak in to who you are dealing with and make a list of priiority of the issues to deal with from acute to chronic and more pressing active issues then you are consumed in that at Psycho Social and Preventive issues take a back seat but if you have them listed as issues to be addressed than they can be taken care of due course of time so can address al the issues but depends on how frequently you see the pt and how compliant they are with follow up

definitely mental health and chronic pain, these things get missed and there is so much prejudgement surrounding these conditions that patients themselves do not even want to discuss it

Mental health. Most places just do a quick depression screen and call it good.

Patient's ability to understand side effects of medication. For many, a handout, teaching session etc etc doesn't really give them knowledge. I almost wonder is a video clip or other media would be more impactful
