Association Between VEGF-460C/T Gene Polymorphism and Risk of Diabetic Retinopathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: a Meta-Analysis

Association Between VEGF-460C/T Gene Polymorphism and Risk of Diabetic Retinopathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: a Meta-Analysis

Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38052425/

To investigate the relationship between VEGF-460C/T polymorphism and susceptibility to diabetic retinopathy (DR) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by meta-analysis.

This meta-analysis indicated that VEGF-460C/T gene polymorphism is associated with susceptibility to DR in T2DM. Allele C and genotype CC at the VEGF-460C/T locus are associated with an increased risk of diabetic retinopathy in T2DM.

A high level of PA of 40.52 and 31.66 MET-h/week was respectively related to the lowest risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. Replacing sedentary time with physical activity could benefit...

Replacing sedentary time with physical activity reduced mortality risk. A high physical activity of nearly 40.52 and 31.66 MET-h/week was linked to the lowest all-cause, cardiovascular mortality.

The effect of smoking cessation on hip fracture risk was not uniform across different subgroups of patients with diabetes. Researchers found that women and young patients with diabetes had a higher residual risk of hip fracture even after quitting smoking than men and older patients.

Intestinal flora homeostasis in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) was evaluated to explore the effects of total Astragalus saponins (TAS) on hepatic insulin resistance (IR). Six-week-old male Sprague-Dawley...

Total Astragalus saponins can ameliorate disordered glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism in T2DM, regulate the composition, community structure, and homeostasis of intestinal microbiota, increase the relative abundance and number of Bifidobacterium, reverse pathologic changes in liver and colon tissues, and improve hepatic insulin signal...

Plasma Metabolites Related to the Consumption of Different Types of Dairy Products and Their Association with New-Onset Type 2 Diabetes: Analyses in the Fenland and EPIC-Norfolk Studies, United Kingdom

Plasma Metabolites Related to the Consumption of Different Types of Dairy Products and Their Association with New-Onset Type 2 Diabetes: Analyses in the Fenland and EPIC-Norfolk Studies, United Kingdom

Metabolite scores identified habitual consumers of milk, butter, and total dairy products, and were associated with lower T2D risk. These findings hold promise for identifying objective indicators of the physiological...

Researchers identified metabolite scores discriminating between physiologic response to high and low consumers of milk, butter, and total dairy products with internal and external validity. Analysis using the metabolite scores supported the association of those dairy products with a lower T2D risk.
