Weight Loss Associated With Semaglutide Treatment Among People With HIV
We identified adult PWH who initiated semaglutide between 2018 and 2022 and with at least 2 weight measurements. The primary outcome was within-person bodyweight change in kilograms at 1 year....
Treatment with semaglutide was associated with an average weight loss of 6.47 kg at 1 year and with a reduction in HbA1c of 1.07% at 1 year among the 157 people with HIV infection with a postindex HbA1c value.
Impact of Screening Programme to Prevent Anal Cancer in High-Risk Patients With HIV
Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38031816/
Macroscopic high-grade dysplasia lesions are associated with a higher risk of developing anal cancer.
Among patients strictly adherent to the screening program, researchers did not report any AIN or anal cancer, but they also did not observe any significant reduction in the risk of anal cancer, AIN3, high-grade dysplasia, or any AIN lesions compared with nonadherent patients.

Jung H, et al. Infect Chemother. 2023 Nov;55:e49. https://doi.org/10.3947/ic.2023.0050
Prevalence of acute coronary syndrome was higher in people with HIV infection even when optimal adherence was maintained.
Maternal HIV Status and Risk of Infant Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Infection as Measured by Tuberculin Skin Test
Source : https://journals.lww.com/pidj/abstract/9900/maternal_hiv_status_and_risk_of_infant.652.aspx
We estimated the incidence and correlates of infant TST-positivity using Cox proportional hazards regression. Among 322 infants, 170 (53%) were HIV-exposed and 152 (47%) were HIV-unexposed.
Infection incidence (by tuberculin skin test) by 24 months of age was nearly 3-fold higher among HIV-exposed children, despite high maternal preventive therapy uptake.
Comorbidity of Myasthenia Gravis and Graves' Disease as Immune Reconstitution-Associated Autoimmune Disease in HIV Infection: a Case Report and Literature Review
Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37990629/
This is a rare case of HIV-related immune reconstitution-associated autoimmune disease (IRAD) with comorbidity of MG and GD which was reported initially. Cooperation with multidisciplinary teams is essential to avoid...
Little study has been done on the link between HIV-related immune reconstitution and autoimmune diseases occurring after antiretroviral therapy.
